HRITHIK MARRIED TO SUZZANE

Bollywood heart-throb Hrithik Roshan was nailed to the post oops he married his longtime sweetheart Suzanne, the youngest daughter of Sanjay Khan in a private ceremony comprising both Hindu and Muslim rites. In the jugalbandi of Hindu-Muslim culture, the Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai superstar performed Hindu rites and Suzanne, performed the Islamic rites.

The ceremony took place at Sanjay Khan's heavily guarded Golden Palms resorts and spa, on Bangalore's outskirts on Wednesday. A handful of teen fans were also present outside the wedding venue.

The media was allowed a dekko at the groom, hours before the wedding. However no outsider was present at the wedding. He appeared briefly before the media in the midst of the haldi ritual from first floor of his bungalow. Hrithik said with a laugh, "There will be no heartburn. They are my wellwishers. They will continue to wish me luck and success. They will wish me the best."

Hrithik was wearing black jeans and a shirt covered with a mustard sports coat and a garland of jasmine flowers around his neck. As it is considered inauspicious for the bride and groom to see each other before they get married, Suzanne was not present.

Gracing the ceremonies were father Rakesh Roshan, father-in-law Sanjay Khan and uncle-in-law Feroz Khan. "Suzanne is our last daughter and I'm very happy that she's getting married", said Feroz Khan to the press. There were about 70 guests from both the Khan and Roshan families and their friends. The guests included stars Prem Chopra, veteran actor Pran, Dimple Kapadia, Rishi and Randhir Kapoor and Jeetendra. Uday Chopra, director Karan Johar and childhood friend Abhishek Bachchan are expected to join the reception on Wednesday evening. A number of star guests who were expected at the wedding including Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan did not land up for the wedding. Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna was also amongst the invitees.

Hrithik's mode of transport to his wedding was a white horse, which arrived in a truck on Wednesday afternoon. Sanjay Khan said the Hindu and Muslim ceremonies would culminate into a registered marriage slated for Wednesday evening. "Rakesh Roshan and I have decided to hold a grand reception for the film industry and the media in Mumbai in January," he said.

Hrithik donned a white with gold embroidery Jodhpuri suit created by designer Rocky S for the wedding. Suzanne was in a Tarun Tahiliani lehenga set. A night of music and dance was organized later. Rakesh Roshan told reporters that a grand reception would be held in Mumbai for the film industry and the media.

While guests at the wedding are expected to leave Bangalore Thursday, the couple will fly out Friday or Saturday. Australia, where Hrithik will have a shooting stint, will be the honeymoon location.
